• • 242 July 3,1990 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order '.j. at 8:30 .m July 3, 1990 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hallo President Pope presiding. Upon roll Councilman Diamond it was found that all councilmen were present, except who was excused. The minutes of the June 27,1990 meeting were approved as printed. MAYOR'S GUEST Mayor Kinch introduced Maria Burgess, a student from Holy Cross School interested in pursuing a career in politics, as his guest for the day. Maria told of her experience as a participant in the welcoming committee at the White House during President Gorbachev's visit. MAYOR'S COMMENTS Jim Shields, Parks Department, extended a formal invibmtion to Island all the c ncilmembers to attend the opening ceremony o Days,July 5th at 3:30 p.m. Mayor Kinch hated that there were 900 people who visited City Hall at the Mall aurine the first week. EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH Paul Roberts, Planning Department, recognizeas d Allan Biffen as Employee f the Month. Mr. Roberts, as wecou cllmembera, thanked Allan for his expertise in handling theupdating of the Zoning Code.
