59 <br /> C <br /> February 12,1992 <br /> \ The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to <br /> order at B:30 a.m., February 12, 1992, in the City Council <br /> Chamber of the Everett City Hall, President Gipson presiding. <br /> Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Kinch and all councilmen <br /> were present. <br /> The minutes of the February 5, 1992 City Council meeting were <br /> app ived as printed. <br /> PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Mayor Kinch made the following proclamations: <br /> February 10-14 "National DECA Meek" <br /> Month of February "Everett Community College Month" <br /> Dr. Barringer, President Pro-tem Everett Community <br /> College and Robert Bavasi, Board of Trustees of <br /> Everett Community College, received the <br /> proclamation. <br /> February 16-22 "Engineers Meek" <br /> Month of February "American Heart Month" <br /> Councilman Pope remarked that heart disease is the <br /> C No.1 killer and that everyone is affected by heart <br /> disease. Research has donem u h to help save <br /> lives. Volunteers needed by the Snohomish <br /> County leant Association and anyone interested <br /> should contact Councilman Anderson or himself. <br /> REPORT-FOREVERETT DOWNTOWN PROJECT <br /> Gary Melsner, 1906 Colby Avenue, reported to Council on the <br /> progress of the Fcreverett Downtown project which targets the <br /> redevelopment of the downtownarea. <br /> He explained that <br /> Washington state selects five citiesto give assistance to by <br /> offering consultation services and resource teams. Public a <br /> well as private participation is a requirement. The application <br /> process is presently underway. Mr. Weisner stated that the <br /> State needs an indication from the City that they are in support <br /> of this project. Councilmen Overstreet recommended that <br /> solution in support of this project be written and put on next <br /> week's agenda for action.
