January 5,2000 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m.,January 5,2000,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, President Campbell presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen and Councilmembers Anderson.Simpson,Warnock,Gipson,Campbell,and Pope were present.Councihnember Overstreet was excused. Councilmember Warnock led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes of the December 29,1999 City Council meeting were approved as primed.Councihncmber Simpson abstained from the vote. MAYOR Mayor Hansen reported Set he had received a phone call from Captain Kim Bale,Base Commander,informing hits that Naval Station Everett was selected as the winner of the Outstanding Community Service Award. APPOINTMENTS: Mayor Hansen requested the City Council's concurrence with the reappointments of Gretchen Shatter and Gary Stomp to the Parks Board;the appointments of Curt Johansen and lava Cameron-Behr to the Historical Commission;and the reappointment of Walter Greissinger to the Tatuportation Advisory Commitee. Mned by Couneilmember Gipson,seconded by Councihnember Simpson en me with the following appointments and reappointments: Gretchen Shatter to Position#6,Partes Beard,for a six year tum, beginning January 1,2000 through December 31,2105. Gary Stor°,Position#3,Parks Board,for a six year term, beginning January 1,2000 through December 31,2005. Curt Johansen,Position#6,Bisferient Commission,for a six year Don,beginning January 1,2000 through December 31,2005.
