July 12,2000 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> July 12,2000 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall,President <br /> Campbell presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen, <br /> Couneilmembera Simpson,Warnock,Gipson,Campbell,Pope and Overstreet <br /> were presenk Councilmembu Anderson was excused. <br /> Counci nember Warnock led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the July 5,2000 City Commit meeting were approved as <br /> primed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> REPORT—6a OF JULY PARADE <br /> Andrea Richards,Everett Jaycees,reported that the 6a of July Parade was very <br /> successful.She thanked the various businesses for their donations and Mayor <br /> Hansen and the Ciry Council for their support. <br /> Mayor Hansen complimented Andrea and the Jaycees for a great job.He also <br /> recognvil the Navy and Salty Sea Days Association for their participation in <br /> the celebration. <br /> CITY REVENUES UPDATE <br /> Mayor Hansen scared that an article in the newspaper indicates that the Boeing <br /> Company deliveries are hack on track,which is god news,There will not he a <br /> reduction ire deliveries next year as previously anticipated. <br /> Bill Cushman,Budget Director,reported a change in the City's economic mus <br /> relative to property tax. On Friday the City received news that a major <br /> taxpayer was successful in negotiating a reduction in their assessed value which <br /> in m caused a refund of 1999 taxes in the amount of$621,000. In other <br /> words,$101,000000 will be removed from the City's esu base.That results in <br /> a$368,000 decrease to regular taxes,EMS will sera loss of$63,000 and the <br /> amount for payment of bods will he reduced by$11,000.This will also apply <br />
