February.),2001 <br /> Tim regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,February.),2001,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Simpson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen <br /> and Coumilmemhers Simpson,Warnock, Campbell,Gipson, Pope and <br /> Overstreet were present.Coamilmemher Anderson was excused. <br /> Mayor Hansen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The mimrtes of the January 31,2001 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.Couacihnember Campbell abstain from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Hawn stated that he was in Washington,D.C.last week to meet with <br /> Congressional delegates regarding various issues and in Olympia yesterday to <br /> testify at the Senate Trampartnion Committee hearing. <br /> SHORELINE TOUR <br /> Paul Roberts,Planning,offered to take the councilmembers on a tour of the <br /> shoreline areas. <br /> CONDOLENCES <br /> Mayor Hansen ammunced that Councilmember Andersons granddaughter, <br /> Kaitlin Whitfield,and Richard Cottage,Code Compliance,passed away this <br /> week.Bud Wessman,Code Compliance,stated that a memorial service will be <br /> held for Richard at Floral Hall at 1:00 p.m.,February 22,2001 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Hames proclaimed February 11,2001 as'Herald Newspaper Day'in <br /> recognition of the newspaper's many contributions to life in our city and <br /> throughout the county.He presented the proclamation to Larry Hansen,Herald <br /> publisher,who thanked the Mayor and gave a brief history of the Herald. <br /> 49 <br />
