February 28,2001 <br /> The regular meeting of We Everett City Council was called to Order at 8:30 a.m., <br /> February 28,2001,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Simpson presiding.Upon 0011 call it was found that Mayor Hansen and <br /> Cousmilmembers Anderson, Simpson, Warnock, Campbell. Gipson, and <br /> Overstreet were present.Commilmember Pope was excused. <br /> Council Director Deb Williams led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the Pdmm,21,2001 City Council meeting were approved w <br /> Printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> AWARD—POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> Police Chief Scbarf introduced Gary Anderson of the Motorola Corporatism who <br /> presented the Webber Seavey Award to We Everett Police Department for Weir <br /> program entided'Yveb site development and institutionalization,a community <br /> relations and recruiting device." The award is jointly sponsored by We <br /> fntemntiorsi Association of Chiefs of Police and Motorola and is presented <br /> annually to agencies in recognition for promoting a standard of excellence Oat <br /> exemplifies law etWrynents contribution and dedicmi.n to the quality of life in <br /> local communities. <br /> OATH—POLICE OFFICERS <br /> Chief Scharf introduced Kevin Men,Msiya Atkins and Benjamin Olmstead,new <br /> police officers. <br /> Moved by Councilmember Oneness(, seconded by Couneilmember <br /> Anderson to concur with the appointments of Kevin Allen,Maiya Atkins and <br /> Benjamin Olmstead as pollee officers. <br /> 72 <br />
