August 1,2001 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to orde at 8:30 am., <br /> August 1,2001 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City HA President <br /> Simpson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen, <br /> Councilmembers Anderson,Simpson,Warnock,Campbell,Papa and Overshot <br /> were present.Cauncihnembe Gipson was excused. <br /> Councihnembe Anderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the luly25,2001 City Council meeting were approved a printed <br /> Councilmembers Anderson and Warnock abstained from the vote <br /> MAYOR <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Hansen proclaimed August,2001 as YMCA Month in the City of Everett <br /> He presented the proclamation to Ted Wenn representing the YMCA Mr. <br /> Wiatla accepted the proclamation and explained that January 23,2001 was the <br /> t00'"Anniversary of the Everest Family YMCA and the YMCA of Snohomish <br /> County. <br /> REPORT <br /> Murray Gordon,Fire Chief,reported on an arson event this past week and tanked <br /> the Red Cross and Police Depmmea the thein response. Eight people were <br /> displaced from their home. <br /> MEHTINO.S <br /> Mayor Hansen reported that lest week he was unable to Mend the City Council <br /> meeting as he was in Washington D.C.meeting with various legislators regarding <br /> transportation and other city issues <br /> HRO tax issues were discussed when Mayen Hansen and other mayors me with <br /> Governor Locke last week Governor Locke has announced that a Competitive <br /> Council has been formed to review HMG tax as well as other issues. <br /> 301 <br />
