• December 26,2001 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 am., December 26,2001 in the City Coattail Chambers of the Everett City Hall, President Simpson presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen, Councilmembers Anderson,Simpson,Gipson,Pope and Overstreet were present Councitmembers Wamockand Campbell were excused. Mayor Henan led the Pledge of Allegiance, The minutes of the December 19,2001 City Council meeting were approved as printed. MAYOR Mayor Hansen thanked Council President David Simpson for four years of matading service on the City Council and the last year of leadaNdp as President of the City Council. COUNCIL All of the munalmanbers shared appreciation for President Simpson's involvement over the past four years on the City Council. Councilmembur Pope brought forth a proposed ordnance,Council Bill Na.01- 12-70,a 2001 operadng budget amendment Rom the Motor Vehicle Division.He requested thy the first and second readings be today and the third reading next week. Councilmemb a Pope reported that he represented the City at the groundbreaking ceremony for the California Street Ovemrossing project.The project should be completed in eighteen months.He also attended the National League of Cities Transportation Infrastructure meeting while at the National League of Cities conference.The following were the maw topics discussed:T-21,pipeline safety, airline safety,and the national rail policy.
