• <br /> December 26,2001 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 am., <br /> December 26,2001 in the City Coattail Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Simpson presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Hansen, <br /> Councilmembers Anderson,Simpson,Gipson,Pope and Overstreet were present <br /> Councitmembers Wamockand Campbell were excused. <br /> Mayor Henan led the Pledge of Allegiance, <br /> The minutes of the December 19,2001 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Hansen thanked Council President David Simpson for four years of <br /> matading service on the City Council and the last year of leadaNdp as <br /> President of the City Council. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> All of the munalmanbers shared appreciation for President Simpson's <br /> involvement over the past four years on the City Council. <br /> Councilmembur Pope brought forth a proposed ordnance,Council Bill Na.01- <br /> 12-70,a 2001 operadng budget amendment Rom the Motor Vehicle Division.He <br /> requested thy the first and second readings be today and the third reading next <br /> week. <br /> Councilmemb a Pope reported that he represented the City at the groundbreaking <br /> ceremony for the California Street Ovemrossing project.The project should be <br /> completed in eighteen months.He also attended the National League of Cities <br /> Transportation Infrastructure meeting while at the National League of Cities <br /> conference.The following were the maw topics discussed:T-21,pipeline safety, <br /> airline safety,and the national rail policy. <br /> Cauncilmember Overstreet wished everyone a Happy New Year. <br /> 569 <br />
