May 1,2002 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m.,May 1.2002,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Anderson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Hansen and Council Members Anderson, Olson, Halloe, Gipson, <br /> Campbell,Pope,and Overstreet were present. <br /> Mayor Hansen led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the April 24,2002 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed.Council Member Pope abstained from the vote. <br /> MAZI1,1 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Hansen proclaimed the month of May,2002 as'Older Americans' <br /> Month",and the week of May 13 through May 17,2002 as'Senior Center <br /> Week".He presented the proclamation to a greup of volunteer seniors. <br /> Ruth Hall,a retired school teacher,presented the Everett Senior Center <br /> Foundation with the deed to her property at 23i°and Broadway for the <br /> enhancement of the Senior Center in the years to come.Jean Berkey, <br /> Treasurer,accepted the gift on behalf of the foundation. <br /> REPORT <br /> Dale Preboski,Administration,announced that the City of Everett has <br /> been chosen as a finalist in the All America Cities competition. <br /> 131 <br />
