October27,2004 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> a.m..October 27.2004 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Hadoe presiding.Upon toll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson:Council Members Krell,Olson,Hams,Gipson.Nielsen,end <br /> Overstreet were present.Council Member Stonecipher arrived later. <br /> Council Member Krell led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The ove of the October ounci 20,m004bar Olson <br /> aett Cay Council meeting were. <br /> approved as printed.Council Member Olson abstained from the vote. <br /> MAVOH <br /> 2005 BUDGET MESSAGE <br /> Council President Haaos. <br /> Members of the City Council. <br /> Citizens of Everett,and <br /> City Employees <br /> 12205 Budget'Maintaining Excellence' <br /> Today I am pleased to present to you my proposed Operating Budget for <br /> 2005. <br /> Over the past 11 months,we have worked hard and made many difficult <br /> decisions together. I want to thank council members again for their <br /> support in amending the 2004 budget In March of this year.The tough <br /> choices we made then not only achieved a shecturelly balanced budget <br /> for 2004,but also provided a stronger foundation on which to balance the <br /> 2005 budget.With your help last spring.we reduced the forecasred 2005 <br /> deficit by more than$0 million and began the budget development <br /> process much closer to our goal. <br /> It is important that Everett taxpayers bust how govemment spends their <br /> money. This budget a based on wise investments end sound financial <br /> practices that maintain our governments stability and credibility. This <br /> 335 <br />
