June 25,2008 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 <br /> m.,June 25,2008,in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Nielsen presiding. Upon roll call It was found that Mayor <br /> Stephenson;Council Members Roberts,Olson,Gipson,Hatloe,Nielsen, <br /> Stonecipher and AHholter were present. <br /> Mayor Stephenson led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 17,2008 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. <br /> MAYOR <br /> OATH-POLICE OFFICERS <br /> Police Chief Scharf introduced three new police officers. <br /> Mayor Stephenson requested the city council's concurrence regarding the <br /> appointments of Johnee Hong,Alex Helphrey and Brett Yeadon as police <br /> officers. <br /> Moved by Council Member Gipson,seconded by Council Member <br /> Olson to concur with the appointments of Johnee Hong,Alex <br /> Helphrey and Brett Yeadon as police officers. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The city clerk administered their oaths of office and Mayor Stephenson <br /> presented them their badges. <br /> RETIREMENT <br /> Chief Scharf announced that it is with regret he is announcing that Deputy <br /> Chief Gerry Burke will be retiring after 27 years of service.He has been a <br /> strong community supporter and his right hand man.Deputy Chief Burke <br /> 189 <br />
