February 3,2010 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m.,February 3,2010 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Roberts presiding.Upon roll call it was found that Council <br /> Members Roberts,Moore,Gipson,Nielsen,Stonecipher,and Affhoher <br /> were present. Mayor Stephenson and Council Member Hatloe were <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 27,2010 Everett City Council meeting were <br /> approved as printed. Council Members Gipson and Stonecipher <br /> abstained from the vote. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> President Roberts read a proclamation proclaiming February 7 through <br /> February 13,2010 as'Burn Awareness Week'.Fire Chief Murray Gordon <br /> accepted the proclamation. <br /> MUNICIPAL TAX REVIEW <br /> Susy Haugen.Finance,presented en overview and analysis of the cih/s <br /> various tax rates,i.e.property tax,utility tax,BBS tax,gambling tax,sales <br /> tax,and how they compare to other jurisdictions. <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Aflholter reported that he attended the Casino Road <br /> Clothing Exchange which is a great program for the community. <br /> Council Member Gipson thanked his colleagues for supporting the agenda <br /> item last week allowing the motorcycle show to come to Everett.It will be <br /> a good revenue stream for the city. He also thanked staff for their <br /> diligence and work. <br /> 30 <br />
