RESOLUTION NO. 616 3 <br /> A RESOLUTION repealing Resolution No. 6157, <br /> which encouraged the City of Everett to seek a levy lid <br /> lift at the 2009 general election to secure funding for <br /> Emergency Medical Services. <br /> WHEREAS, on June 17, 2009,the Everett City Council adopted Resolution No. 6157 <br /> encouraging the City of Everett to seek voter approval of a levy lid lift at the 2009 <br /> general election to provide sufficient funding for Emergency Medical Services; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Council recognizes the financial difficulties facing the City's <br /> electorate and the potential hardship posed by a property tax increase; and <br /> WHEREAS,the existing EMS levy will not provide sufficient funding for the City's <br /> EMS program in 2010 and beyond; and <br /> WHEREAS,to avoid potential disruptions in the EMS program, the City will <br /> temporarily make up the funding gap with an interfund loan during the 2010 budget <br /> year; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT repeals Resolution No. 6157. <br /> Council Member Affholter <br /> Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 8th day of Jul y , 2009. <br /> I , <br /> Ray S anson, ayor Arlan Hatloe, Council President <br /> Shannon Affholter, ce President Councilmember Paul 1 oberts <br /> 1 <br />
