EVERETT <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7680 WASHINGTON <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett to acknowledge the historic land of the sduhubs people <br /> and their successors,the Tulalip Tribes. <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> 1. The City of Everett lies on the historic land of the sduhubs people and their successors,the Tulalip <br /> Tribes; and <br /> 2. We acknowledge, since time immemorial,they have hunted, fished, gathered on, and taken care <br /> of these lands and waters; and <br /> 3. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination and honor their sacred spiritual <br /> connection with the land and water; and <br /> 4. We will strive to be honest about our past mistakes and bring about a future that includes their <br /> people, stories, and voices to form a more just and equitable society; and. <br /> 5. The City of Everett wishes to acknowledge the land and the original inhabitants of this place, with <br /> a Land Acknowledgement Statement; and <br /> 6. The Land Acknowledgement Statement was developed in partnership and agreement with Tulalip <br /> Tribe Treaty Rights and Government Affairs Director in July 2021. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> We acknowledge the original inhabitants of this place,the sduhubs people and their successors, the <br /> Tulalip Tribes. Since time immemorial, they have hunted, fished,gathered on, and taken care of these <br /> lands and waters. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination and honor their sacred <br /> spiritual connection with the land and water.
