aftwek.— -: <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3700 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND CONSOLIDATING SECTION 15 AND <br /> 15A OF ORDINANCE NO. 3546 ENTIT1RD: <br /> An ordinance regulating the construction, operation <br /> and maintenance of public and private sewers, plumb- <br /> ing and drainage, and providing for the making of <br /> connections therewith; compelling connection to <br /> public sewers and fixing liens and prescribing <br /> penalties for the violation thereof; and repealing <br /> all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict <br /> herewith. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Sections 15 and 15A of Ordinance No. <br /> 3546 are hereby amended and consolidated to read as follows : <br /> Section 15 : PERMIT TO CONNECT TO PUBLIC SEWER. <br /> Applications for a permit to connect to a public <br /> sewer or to repair, alter or lower existing connections <br /> or sidesewers, installing sumps, drains, catch basins <br /> and repair work or any and all kinds pertaining thereto, <br /> except the opening of sidesewers by rodding for the <br /> removal of obstructions in the side sewer line when the <br /> same can be removed through a clean-out installed for <br /> that purpose, must state the location of the sewer, <br /> name of the owner of the premises, the number and location <br /> of buildings to be connected and must be accompanied by <br /> a permit fee in accordance with the following schedule : <br /> Initial connection to public sewer $10.00 <br /> Catchbasins 10.00 <br /> Repairs to side sewers or laterals 2.50 <br /> Altering existing side sewers or laterals 2.50 <br /> Installation of drains and/or sumps 2.50 <br /> Capping sewers 2.50 <br /> All persons desiring to connect a private sewer to a <br /> public sewer to serve property which has not been charged <br /> with the costs of a local sewer by local improvement <br /> district assessment or otherwise shall, in addition to <br /> the payment of the $10.00 initial connection permit fee <br /> above provided, also accompany said application with a <br /> contract signed by the owner of record of the property <br /> agreeing to (1) Pay to the City of Everett a sum equal <br /> to the cost of a local sewer, to-wit: $50.00 down plus <br /> $2.00 per month for 100 months, or $230.00 in cash. This <br /> is in addition to the permit fee of $10.00 paid to the <br /> City Engineer; (2) Cause or permit the City of Everett <br /> to disconnect the sewer line if the sewer connection <br /> charge herein provided is not promptly paid when due, or <br /> if the sewer service charge provided by Ordinance No. <br /> 3546 is not promptly paid when due; (3) Provide that the <br /> agreement shall be and constitutes a covenant running <br /> with the land and binding on the owner and all persons <br /> subsequently acauring any right, title or interest in <br /> and to said property. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to extend, repair <br /> or alter any side sewer, lateral or drain beyond the <br /> limits for which the permit has been issued. <br />
