• <br /> ORDINANCE No. <br /> 3076 . <br /> AN ORDINANCE declaring a public emergency to exist , allocat- <br /> ing certain funds to the health Department for the cost of main- <br /> tenance of a quarantine center, and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, a smallpox epidemic arose in the City of Everett ; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, there was no isolation ward or suitable place to <br /> house smallpox patients; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the time of making the budget for the year <br /> 1946 it could not have been reasonably foresen that a smallpox <br /> epidemic would reauire the maintenance and operation of an <br /> isolation ward; and <br /> ';'HERE±S , it was necessary to expend the sum of c 1, 231 .62 <br /> for the purpose of acquiring and equipping an isolation ward. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE , THE, CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists requiring <br /> the allocation of funds to the health Department of the City of <br /> Everett for the payment of expenditures in the mairInance of an <br /> isolation ward. <br /> Section 2 : That there is hereby appropriated out of <br /> the General Current Expense Fund of Everett , not otherwise budgeted, <br /> the sum of q. 1, 231 .62 , which sum shall be paid by the <br /> issuance of emergency warrants drawn on such fund by the proper <br /> officers of the City of Everett as provided b-,- law, and that the <br /> 1iealth Department of the City of iverett shall be charged with such <br /> expenditures. <br /> Section 3: That an emergency is declared to exist and <br /> this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> 1-ay or —. <br /> Attest : <br /> *42( <br /> Ci Clerk <br /> Passed: July 3rd, 1946 . <br /> Published: July 5th, 1946 . <br />
