A V <br /> A w <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE No. ,0 442 <br /> AN ORDINANCE declaring that a public emergency exists; <br /> allocating certain funds, increasing the salaries and wages of <br /> certain officers, assistants, deputies and employees of the City <br /> of Everett for the period commencing January 1, 1946, and ending <br /> December 31, 1946, being in addition to the salaries and wages es <br /> fixed by Ordinance No. 3049 of the City of Everett, and providing <br /> the terms and conditions under which the payments shall be made , <br /> and declaring an emergency. <br /> WHEREAS, demands have been made upon the Commissioners <br /> of the City of Everett for an increase in the salaries and wages <br /> of the City employees for the reason that the same are not in line <br /> with the salaries and wages paid to persons doing similar work in <br /> private industry, and because of the increased cost of living; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commissioners of the City of Everett <br /> have appointed an impartial committee consisting of three members <br /> of labor and three members of business and industry to investigate <br /> said matter; and <br /> FTHEREAS, said committee has recommended that the salaries <br /> of certain of the employees of the City of Everett be raised, and <br /> finds that an emergency exists. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, Tom: CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists requiring <br /> the allocation of additional funds for the payment of an increase <br /> in the salaries and wages of certain officers, assistants, <br /> deputies and employees of the City of Everett . <br /> Section 2 : That the salaries and wages of certain <br /> officers, assistants, deputies end employees of the City of Everett <br /> be increased as set forth below, during the period commencing <br /> January 1, 1946 , and ending December 31, 1946, said increase to <br /> be in addition to the salaries and wages provided for and fixed by <br /> Ordinance No. 3049 of the City of Everett, and that said increase <br /> in salaries and wages shall be paid semi-monthly; PROVIDED, that <br /> the amount accumulated as of the date of passing and adoption of <br /> this ordinance for work performed since January 1, 1946, shall be <br /> paid on the next date on which salaries and wages are paid: <br /> Section 3: CITY ATTORNEY DEPARTN'ENT: <br /> City Attorney 4;10 .00 per mo. <br /> Assistant City Attorney 10.00 per no. <br /> Stenographer 10.00 per mo. <br /> Section 4: CITY HALL DEPARTVENT <br /> Janitor $10 .00 per mo. <br /> Assistant Janitor 10 .00 per mo. <br /> Section 5: CITY POUND DEPARTVENT. <br /> Poundmaster W 10.00 per mo. <br /> -1- <br />
