C. , for approximately Fourteen (14) weeks beginning July 24, 1944; appropriating the sum of :six --lun.dred Dollars (w600 .00 ) from the State ;id Fund for the purpose of contributing to the expense of George Kelson in attending, said school, and declaring an emergency. C. , a training school for police and other officers; and ' - REL , said George Nelson has been designated as an officer to attend said school; End 'IP.ELS, it is necessary and proper and for the best interest of the City of verett that said officer attend said school. TIE CITY OF E?E ETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That George Nelson, Chief of Police of the City of Everett , be , and he is hereby authorized end directed to attend said officers training school conducted by the F . E. I. -.�h tional Police -cademy at 'd;ashington, D. C . , for the term be- ginning July 24, 1944, and continuing for approximately Fourteen (14) weeks. Section 2 : That during the attendance of said officer at said training school he shall be entitled to receive and there shell be paid to him his regular salary as Chief of the Police Departr::ent of the City of Everett, and during his attendance at said school said officer shall be deemed a member of said Police Department ar_d shall be entitled to all the right of a member of said Police Department End shall be subject to all the regulations of said Depart, ent applicable t ereto, Section 3 : That there be and hereby is appropriate• from the State --:.id Fund available for such purpose the sum of Six :undyed Dollars ( 600 .00 ) which shall be paid to the said George Nelson in the usual na lner at the time he leaves for attendance at said school. Section 4: That the said GeorgePelson upon the passage and Jublication of this Ordinance shell enter into en agreement with. the City of Everett that in the event that said officer voluntarily leaves the Police Department of the City of Everett at any time within the period of Five (5) years from the 24th aay of July, 19,.4, the said officer shall reimburse the City of Everett for all salary paid to him during the time he is in attendance at said school, and shall reimburse the City of Everett for said sum of Six Hundred Dollars ( '. 600 .00 ) paid to
