r • r ORDINANCE No. '9f 7 AN ORDINI',NCE submitting to the qualified electors of Everett a proposed amendment to Section 7 of the Charter of Everett relating to the Salaries of city Commissioners at a special municipal election to be held in 1�v^r.ett on the 2nd day of October ,.- , 1943, and requesting the Eleotion 3oard of -Snohomish County , Washington, to call said election at said time for said purposes, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, the salaries now provided for the City Commissioners of Everett are inadequate and insufficient and that before the term of office of said Commissioners beginning in January 1944 a proposed amendment to Section 7 of the Charter of Everett should be submitted to the qualified electors of the City at a special election called for said purpose providing, for an increase in the salaries of said Commissioners. THE CIT-' OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That a proposed amendment to Section 7 of the Charter. of =,verett in relation to the salaries of the Commissioners be submitted to the ualified electors of Everett at a special municipal election to -be held in said City on the 2nd day of OCtober , 1943. Section 2 : Thy t Section 7 of the Charter of Everett be amended to read as follows: "Section 7: SA.LARI - . The annual saler;r of each commissioner shall be Two Thousand Dollars ( 2,000.00 ) until the term of office of said Commissioners beginning in January 1944, and for the term of said Commissioners beginning in January 1944 and thereafter the annual salaries of each Commissioner shall be Three Thousand Dollars. The salary shall be paid in equal semi-monthly in- stallments."
