ORDANP CE NO. 2579 . An Ordinance providing for the licensing for revenue and regulating the Trade or Occupation of decorating the exterior of buildings, structures and the streets in the City of Everett, providing penalties for the violation thereof, repealing all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict here- with, and declaring an emergency . THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section i . at shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to engage in the business of decorating the exterior of buildings or structures, or any of the streets, with flags, bunting, or other material of a like na- ture, within the City of Everett, without first having procured a license from the City Council thereof so to do, which license is fixed in the sum of Ten (40.00) Dollars per day, for each day engaged in said business, whether in putting up or taking down such decorations . Provided no such license shall be issued for a period of less than one week (7 full days) and such license shall cover all employees of such persons, firm or corporation. Section 2. Any person violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be , upon conviction thereof, punished by a fine of not more than Three Hundred ($300.00) Dollars or by imprisonment of not more than Ninety (90) days in the City Jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 3. The license provided for herein shall be for the purpose of raising revenue or for the purpose of regulation, or for the combined purpose of raising revenue and regulation. Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5. An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and publication. Mayor Attest:/ City Clerk Passed: May 31st, 1933 .
