S • ORDINANCE NO. 24, An Ordinance amending Sections 5 and MS of Otdi nance No.248 3 of the City of Everett, by providing for a Captain who shall be the Chief of Detectives of the Police Department, and providing hie salary. eHB CITY OF E BTT Doze; .ORDAIN: Section 1 That section 5 of Ordinance No. 2483 of the City of .Uverett be amended to read as follorte: "Section 5: There shall be the following named officers and assistants in the police department, to..wit One chief of police, one captain rho shall also be the chief of detectives, one chief of Identification Bureau, three desk sergeants, three plain clothes men, eighteen patrolmen who shall be classified as first, second or third grade patrolmen as hereinafter provided; one police woman, one clerk (half 14mme), one traveler's aid, and two jail floor jan- itors. Patrolmen for the first year of service, shall be classed as third grade patrolmen; patrolmen for the second year of service, shall be classed as second grade patrolmen; and patrolmen for the third year of service and tiosmafter, shall be classed as first grade patrolmen. The chief of police shall be the administrative head of the police department. It shall be to duty of the officers ' and assistants in said. department to perform the duties indicated by the name .of their employment, .and such other duties as the chief of police and commissioner of safety may authorize and direct. Section 2: That section 25 of Ordinance No. 2483 of the City of.Everett be amended to read as follows: "Section 25: Police Department. Chief of Police, Two Hundred (4200.00) Dolleri per month Captain and chief of .detectives, One Hundred and a ,ghty«►five ( 185.00) Dollars:1)er month. Chief of Identificat ion Bureau., One Hundred and, $eve y-five ( 175.00) Dollars per month.
