S <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 24, <br /> An Ordinance amending Sections 5 and MS of Otdi nance <br /> No.248 3 of the City of Everett, by providing for <br /> a Captain who shall be the Chief of Detectives of the Police <br /> Department, and providing hie salary. <br /> eHB CITY OF E BTT Doze; .ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 That section 5 of Ordinance No. 2483 of <br /> the City of .Uverett be amended to read as follorte: <br /> "Section 5: There shall be the following named officers and <br /> assistants in the police department, to..wit One chief of police, <br /> one captain rho shall also be the chief of detectives, one chief <br /> of Identification Bureau, three desk sergeants, three plain clothes <br /> men, eighteen patrolmen who shall be classified as first, second <br /> or third grade patrolmen as hereinafter provided; one police woman, <br /> one clerk (half 14mme), one traveler's aid, and two jail floor jan- <br /> itors. Patrolmen for the first year of service, shall be classed <br /> as third grade patrolmen; patrolmen for the second year of service, <br /> shall be classed as second grade patrolmen; and patrolmen for the <br /> third year of service and tiosmafter, shall be classed as first <br /> grade patrolmen. The chief of police shall be the administrative <br /> head of the police department. It shall be to duty of the officers ' <br /> and assistants in said. department to perform the duties indicated <br /> by the name .of their employment, .and such other duties as the chief <br /> of police and commissioner of safety may authorize and direct. <br /> Section 2: That section 25 of Ordinance No. 2483 <br /> of the City of.Everett be amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 25: Police Department. <br /> Chief of Police, Two Hundred (4200.00) Dolleri <br /> per month <br /> Captain and chief of .detectives, One Hundred <br /> and a ,ghty«►five ( 185.00) Dollars:1)er month. <br /> Chief of Identificat ion Bureau., One Hundred and, <br /> $eve y-five ( 175.00) Dollars per month. <br />
