41 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2441 <br /> An Ordinance providing for emergency expenditures in the <br /> Police and Fire Departments of the City of Everett, the issuance <br /> of emergency warrants therefor, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That a public emergency exists which could <br /> not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of making the bud- <br /> get for the year 1929 (to-wit: in October, 1928 ) ; that said emer- <br /> gency has been caused in the Police and Fire Departments in that <br /> the power and light poles will be removed from Hewitt Avenue with- <br /> in the next year, which will necessitate the placing of the pres- <br /> ent police and fire alarm systems on Hewitt Avenue underground, <br /> Due to the fact that a street-lighting system is now being in- <br /> stalled on Hewitt Avenue, the cost of installing a police and <br /> fire alarm system underground on Hewitt Avenue during the install- <br /> ation of the lighting system will be approximately only two-thirds <br /> as much as it would be if installed at a later dEte. The amount <br /> of money required to meet said emergency is in the estimated sum <br /> of seven thousand dollars (07000.00) . <br /> Section 2: That said emergency expenditures shall be paid <br /> for by the issuance of emergency warrants by the proper officials <br /> of the City of Everett, as provided by law. <br /> Section 3: An emergency is declared to exist and this Or- <br /> dinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and pub- <br /> lication. <br /> • Mayor. <br /> Atit st✓ <br /> it y Clerk. <br /> Passed: June 18, 1929 <br /> Published: June 20, 1929 <br />
