II ORDINIZCE O. 2424 An Ordinance calling a special election to be held in the city of Everett on February 16, 1929i providing for the submis- sion to the qualified electors voting at said election of the proposition of altering, revising or changing the present city charter or of the preparation of a new charter by fifteen free- holders to be elected, for that purposes providing for the elec- tion thereat, by the qualified electors of the city, of fifteen freeholders whose duty it shall be to prepare and propose a char- ter for the city of Everett, and rroviding for the filing of nominations of candidates for such offices of freeholder. W:EREAS, a petition, signed by one-fourth of the rrualified electors of the City of Everett as shown by the last general ci- ty election, has been filed with the City Clerk of said City, as provided in Section 8955,Remington' s Compiled Statutes of Wash- ington, as amended. Now, therefore, 2HE CITY OF EVERETT DOES C,RDJ:: Section 1: That a special charter election, pursuant to section 8955, ReminEton' s Compiled Statutes of Washington, as amended, shall be had and held in the city of Everett on Febru- ary 16, 1929, at which election the qualified electors of such city ay vote for or against the proposition of altering, re- vising or changing the present city charter or of the prepara- tion of a new charter by fifteen freeholders to be elected for that purpose. In the event that a majority of all the votes cast shall be in favor of the above proposition, the qualified 44. electors of said city shall choose fifteen freeholders thereof, -1 who shall have been residents of said city for a period of at least two (2) years preceding their election, and qualified a- lectors, whose duty it shall be to commence within ten (10) days after their election, and within sixty (80) days thereafter
