II <br /> ORDINIZCE O. 2424 <br /> An Ordinance calling a special election to be held in the <br /> city of Everett on February 16, 1929i providing for the submis- <br /> sion to the qualified electors voting at said election of the <br /> proposition of altering, revising or changing the present city <br /> charter or of the preparation of a new charter by fifteen free- <br /> holders to be elected, for that purposes providing for the elec- <br /> tion thereat, by the qualified electors of the city, of fifteen <br /> freeholders whose duty it shall be to prepare and propose a char- <br /> ter for the city of Everett, and rroviding for the filing of <br /> nominations of candidates for such offices of freeholder. <br /> W:EREAS, a petition, signed by one-fourth of the rrualified <br /> electors of the City of Everett as shown by the last general ci- <br /> ty election, has been filed with the City Clerk of said City, <br /> as provided in Section 8955,Remington' s Compiled Statutes of Wash- <br /> ington, as amended. Now, therefore, <br /> 2HE CITY OF EVERETT DOES C,RDJ:: <br /> Section 1: That a special charter election, pursuant to <br /> section 8955, ReminEton' s Compiled Statutes of Washington, as <br /> amended, shall be had and held in the city of Everett on Febru- <br /> ary 16, 1929, at which election the qualified electors of such <br /> city ay vote for or against the proposition of altering, re- <br /> vising or changing the present city charter or of the prepara- <br /> tion of a new charter by fifteen freeholders to be elected for <br /> that purpose. In the event that a majority of all the votes <br /> cast shall be in favor of the above proposition, the qualified <br /> 44. <br /> electors of said city shall choose fifteen freeholders thereof, <br /> -1 <br /> who shall have been residents of said city for a period of at <br /> least two (2) years preceding their election, and qualified a- <br /> lectors, whose duty it shall be to commence within ten (10) days <br /> after their election, and within sixty (80) days thereafter <br />
