y y C ORDI.NANCE NO. 235 An Ordinance levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1928, on all taxable, property, both real and personal in said city, sub- ject to taxation therein for the purpose of raising sufficient revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year as required by the charter of said city ad. the laws of the state of Washington, prescribing and apportion- ing the same into the different funds of said city for said fiscal year, providing for the collection thereof and repeal- ing all ordinances in conflict therewith. `W .-E;;r,EAS, on the Iffith day of September , 1927, the City Council of the city of Everett did duly and regularly adopt the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public ex- penses of said city for the ensuing year and the amou% to be raised by taxation in said city for the said ensuing year from sources other than by direct taxation; and WlaREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively com- pleted the budget of the city of Everett for the year 1928, and that a copy of said budget would be' furnished any tax payer of the city of Everett upon application thereof and that the City Council would meet in the Council room of the City Hall at 10:30 A. M. October 3rd , 1927, for the pur- pose of fixing the final budget and, designating the tax levies; and that any tax payer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said Tlidget, was published in the official newspaper of said city in all respects as required by law; and WHEREAS, said City Council did on October 4, 1927 , meet in the City Hall of said city at 10: 30 A. M. for the purpose aforesaid and having heard all persons appearing in fav- or of or against said proposed tax levy, did there and then make, determine and decide the amount of taxes to be placed uFon the current assessment rolls to be in t.le sum of 481,,,O 8.10 apportioned as hereinafter described, now, therefore
