• <br /> ORDINANCE NO.XZy7. <br /> An 0r inance subnjitting to the legal voters of the city <br /> of Everett a proposed amendment to the Charter of the city of <br /> Everett with r elation to the maximum tax levy for library pur- <br /> poses. <br /> THE CITY OF EMMETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. That a proposed amendments to Sections 62 and <br /> 122 of the charter of the city of Everett with relation to the <br /> maximum tax levy for library purposes be eubmitted to the legal <br /> voters of the city of Everett at a special municipal election to <br /> be held in said city on December 4, 1926. <br /> Section 2. That section 62 of the Charter of the city of <br /> Everett be amended ao as to read as follows, to -wit: <br /> "Section 62: FUNDS: <br /> (a) The city council shall levy each year for the main- <br /> tenance and improvement of the library and its branches, a tax <br /> of not more than one and 25/100 (1.25) of a mill. <br /> (b) All funds received by the library board from other <br /> sources than taxation shall be deposited with the city treasurer <br /> to the credit of the library fund. <br /> (c) The library board shall' certify to the clerk every <br /> expenditure made by it and the same shall be audited and paid in <br /> the same manner as other claims against the city." <br /> Section 3: That secion 122 of the Charter be amended so <br /> as to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Section 122: LIMITATION OF TAX LEVIES: <br /> The council shall have authority to levy taxes upon all <br /> real and personal property not exempt from taxation each year as <br /> follows, to-wit: <br /> For parks and cemetery, not exceeding one (1) mill. <br /> For libraries, not exceeding one and 25/100 (1.25) of a mill. <br />
