OPD fl 4V CE NO. 2174 . <br /> An Ordinance emending Section 14 of Ordinance No.1439 of <br /> the City of Everett, relative to enforcement of collections in Local <br /> Improvement Districts and foreclosure on assessments therein and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> T}E CITY OF E1TELam:TT DOES ORIDADT : <br /> Section 1 : That Section 14 of Ordinance No.1439. of theCity <br /> of Everett be amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Section 14 : Whenever the assessment upon property in any <br /> Local Improvement District in the City of Everett is payable in <br /> installments, the enforcement of the lien of any installment by any <br /> method herein authorized shall not prevent the enforcement of the <br /> lien of any subsequent installment by any method herein nrthorized <br /> when the same may become delinquent . The City Treasurer shall report <br /> all delinquencies in Local Improvement Districts to the City Attorney, . <br /> who shall first notify the property owner that unless payment is made <br /> immediately that proceedings to foreclose the lien for the unpaid <br /> or delinquent assessment or assessments or installment thereof , as <br /> the case may be will be commenced. forthwith. Upon failure to pay any <br /> installment when due, the entire assessment shall become due and. pay- <br /> able and the collection thereof may be enforced in the mariner prescribed <br /> by law and the ordinances of this city-. Provided, however, that the <br /> payment of such delinquent installment or installments due, together <br /> with interest, penalty and cost, at any time before entry of judgment. <br /> in any foreclosure proceedings, shall extend the time of payment on <br /> the remainder of the assessments, the same as if there had been no <br /> delinquency or foreclosure." <br /> Section 2 : An emergency is declared to exist and this <br /> ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and )blicat ion. <br /> Passed bxn er 5 9`' - L.ayor <br /> �o <br /> Attest : <br /> tR erk <br /> xublished: Nov pab.e_r. 7,-1924 <br />
