• • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2373-99 `' <br /> J <br /> An Ordinance Rezoning Two Properties Located to the West Side of Holly Drive, <br /> To Correct Errors in the Assignment of Zoning to Mukilteo School District Property, <br /> as Part of the Annual Update to the Comprehensive Plan Initiated in 1998. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett adopted a new Comprehensive Plan in August, 1994, in <br /> conformance with the Washington State Growth Management Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Growth Management Act, codified as RCW Chapter 36.70A, generally <br /> allows for comprehensive plans to be amended on an annual basis; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett initiated its third annual comprehensive plan amendment <br /> process in July, 1998, which included consideration of Land Use Map amendment and <br /> rezone applications; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City initiated amendments to the Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map <br /> and Zoning Map to correct errors that had occurred related to designations of school <br /> district properties; and <br /> WHEREAS, errors had occurred in relation to the zoning of the Mukilteo School District <br /> ACES High School property; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council held a Public Workshop on January 27, 1999, and a Public <br /> Hearing on February 3, 1999, to consider the recommendations of the Planning <br /> Commission concerning various amendments to the Land Use Map and the rezoning of <br /> specific properties as part of the 1998 Comprehensive Plan update process; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted Ordinance No. 2372-99 amending the land <br /> use designation of the Everett Comprehensive Plan for the subject properties in support <br /> of the requested rezone; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds: <br /> 1. The proposed rezone actions implement the revised land use designation of the <br /> City's Growth Management Comprehensive Plan; <br /> 2. By implementing the Comprehensive Plan land use designation, the proposed <br /> rezone action bears a substantial relation to the public health, safety and welfare; <br /> and <br />
