• ORDINANCE NO. _�• An Ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No.1594 with reference to an assistant in the City Attorney's Department, • and also amending Section 4 of said Ordinance No.1594 with reference to a license clerk in the Ci ty; Clerks Department, the said Ordinance 2 No.1594 being entitled as follows, to-wit: 3 " An Ordinance fixing and determining the number and designations of the various officers, assistants, 4 deputies and employees of the City of Everett, prescribing the duties of sucjA officers, assistants, deputies and employees 5 except v .ere the same has been fixed by the city charter or ordinances of the City of Everett, repealing Ordinances numbers 6 1429, 1430,1442,1483,1541 , and declaring an emergency." 7 THE CITY OP EVERETT DOES ORDAIN ; 8 Section 1 : That Section 3 of Ordinance No.1594 of 9 j the City ofwverett be amended to read as follows: 10 "S ection 3 : There shall be in the office of the 11 City Attorney an assistant to be called Assistant City:Attorney. 12 It shall be the duty of said Assistant City Attorney to perform 13 such duties in relation to said office as the City Attorney may 14 authorize and direct." 1� Section 2 : That Section 4 of Ordinance No.1594 of 16 the City of ~Everett ba amended to read as follows: 17 "Section 4 ; There shall be the following named 18 , deputies and assistants in the office of the City Clerk, to-wit: 19 Deputy city clerk; License Clerk and one stenographer. It shall 20 j be the duty of such Deputy City Clerk, license clerk and stenographer 21 in said office to perform the duties pertaining to the office of 22 j City clerk under the direction of said City Clerk. l°he City Clerk 23 shall be the purchasing agent of Everett and it shall be the duty 24 as such purchasing agent to advertise for bids for all contracts 25 for city supplies, and report the same for award to the city council, 26 purchase all articles of supplies needed for the city of Everett 27 in ita several departments, and conduct sale5of all personal 28 property of the city, and in such manner and under such regulations 29 30 �1.. 31
