The Site has been used for bulk
petroleum fuel storage since the 1980s,and is in an industrial area of Everett directly adjacent to the Interstate 5
and Highway 2 interchange. The property is currently in the process of being sold to a new owner, who does not
require the presence of the USTs. Hence, PNEC is removing the USTs as part of the sales agreement.
The project includes removal of three existing 30,000-gallon fuel tanks containing diesel, gasoline and stove oil.
The tanks will be removed from the ground, pea gravel installed in the excavation to replace the volume of the
tank removed, and repaved to match existing grade. An overhead loading rack and all associated piping will also
be removed. The work will be performed in compliance with UST removal regulations.
The attached SEPA checklist has been prepared for your review for the UST removal project. We respectfully
request that the public review period also be waived. The project is straightforward, will require approximately
one to two months to complete, and will not result in any new aboveground construction, changes in drainage,or
traffic patterns surrounding the site. The Site is zoned C-2, is outside of the 100 year flood plain, and is not in
any shoreline or master plan critical areas.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience, at(208)407-8926 or hm„maIlu,z!,iiilli\ ciwm to confirm your
concurrence with this request, or if you wish to discuss any of the information presented in the SEPA Checklist
further.
Sincerely,
ALIckizAltSzco.-a
Howard W.
