• <br /> .- , <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1823 <br /> An ordinance fixing the salaries and compensation to be <br /> paid to the Fire Department of the city of Everett, amending Ordin- <br /> ance No. 1818, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That from and after March 1, 1918, the salaries <br /> and compensation to be paid to the officers and employees of the <br /> Fire Department of the city of Everett shall be as in this ordinance <br /> provided. <br /> Section 2: That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 1818 of the city <br /> of Everett be and hereby is amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 8: Chief of Fire Department, one hundred sixty-rive <br /> dollars per month; assistant chief of fire department, one hundred <br /> twenty-eight dollars per month; captains, one hundred ten dollars <br /> per month each; lieutenants, one hundred five dollars per month each; <br /> engineer, one hundred ten dollars per month; assistant engineers, <br /> one hundred five dollars per month each; auto drivers, for the first <br /> year of service, ninety-five dollars per month each; auto drivers for <br /> the second year of service and thereafter, shall receive one hundred <br /> five dollars per month each; pipe-men for the first year of service <br /> shall be classed as third grade pipe-men, and shall receive ninety <br /> dollars per month each; pipe-men for the second year of service shall <br /> be classed as second grade pipe-men and shall receive ninety-five dollars <br /> per month each; pipe-men for the third year of service and thereafter, <br /> shall be classed as first grade pipe-men and shall receive one hundred <br /> dollars per month each; master mechanic, one hundred ten dollars <br /> per month.
