OP.DINANCA NO. <br /> An ordinance amending aections 5 and 7 of Ordinance No. <br /> 1439 of the city of Aver. ett, passed July 30, 1912 , and published <br /> August 1 , 1912, and entitled "An ordinance relating to the making <br /> of local improvements to be paid for in whole or in part, directly <br /> or indirectly,by assessments upon the lots or parcels of land benefit- <br /> ed by such improvement, providing for the establishment of local <br /> improvement districts for the purpose of paying therefor, describing <br /> the mode in which the cnar.ge upon the respective lots or parcels of <br /> land shall be assessed, and repealing all ordinances and parts of <br /> ordinances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency" , and <br /> declaring an emergency. <br /> TH.& CITY OF Al/A ITT DO. ;i ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1439 of the <br /> city of Averett, passed July 30, 1912 , published August 1 , 1912, <br /> and entitled as above set forth, be, and the same is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> Section 5: MODE OF PAYPLNT BY BONDS: Whenever the cost and <br /> expense of any improvement shall be payable by the mode of "payment <br /> by bonds" , the whole or any portion of any assessment levied on <br /> account of such improvement may be paid without penalty or interest <br /> within the first thirty days following the date of the first publi- <br /> cation of the notice by the city treasurer that such assessment and <br /> assessment roll is in his hands for collection, and the unpaid bal- <br /> ance , if any, may be paid in equal annual installments , the number <br /> of Which installments shall be less by two than the number of <br /> years which the bonds issued to pay far the improvement may run, or <br /> the lien of any such assessment may be discharged at any time after <br /> the said thirty days by paying the entire unpaid portion thereof, <br /> with all penalties and costs attaching, together with all interest <br />
