• <br /> + + <br /> ORDINANCE No. 1630 <br /> An ordinance amending Section 8 of Ordinance No. 1594 <br /> of the city of Everett, entitled. "An ordinance fixing and determin- <br /> ing the number and designation of the various officers, assistants, <br /> deputies and employees of the city of Everett, prescribing the duties <br /> of such officers, assistants, deputies and employees except where <br /> the same have been fixed by the city charter or ordinances of the <br /> city of Everett, repealing ordinances numbers 1429, 1430, 1442, <br /> 1483 and 1541, and declaring an emergency" , and declaring an emerg- <br /> ency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That Section 8 of Ordinance ITo. 1-94 of the <br /> city of Everett, passed April 21, 1914, and published April 23, 1914, <br /> and entitled as above set forth, be, and thr same is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> Section 8: There shall be the following named officers <br /> and assistants in the police department , to-wit: <br /> One captain, two sergeants, one jailor, two detectives, <br /> two patrol drivers , twelve patrolmen. Patrolmen for the first elev- <br /> en months of service shall be classed as third grade patrolmen, <br /> patrolmen for the next year of service shall be classed as second <br /> grade patrolmen, and patrolmen for the next year of service, and <br /> thereafter, shall be classed as first grade patrolmen. It shall be <br /> the duty of the assistants in said department to perform the duties <br /> indicated by the name of their employment and such other duties as <br /> the captain or commissioner of safety may authorize and direct. <br /> Section 2: WHEREAS, It is desirable that the above <br /> ordinance take effect immediately, an emergency is declared to <br /> exist, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and pub*, <br /> lira Lion. <br /> Passed L ! !' <br /> Attest _ <br /> City Clerk. �.. <br /> f <br /> Published ex <br />
