ROLL CALL <br /> ORDINANCi NO, /6 /02, <br /> An ordinance authorizing the city council of the city of <br /> Averett to purchase one motor-driven city service hook and ladder <br /> truck, with chemical tank, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THA CITY OF AVARATT DOTS ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the city council of the city of Averett <br /> be and it is hereby authorized to purchase one motor-driven city <br /> service hook and ladder truck, with chemical tank, at a cost of not <br /> to exceed $7000.00. <br /> Section 2: Said truck shall conform to such specifica- <br /> tions as the city council shall determine. Before purchasing said <br /> truck the council shall advertise for bids for the same, and notice <br /> calling for said bids shall be in such form as the city council <br /> shall direct, and shall be published at least three times in the <br /> official newspaper of said city, and the time for considering such <br /> bids shall be not less than ten days after the first publication of <br /> said notice. <br /> The city council may reject any and all bids, or may <br /> accept the bid which in its opinion is the best bid. <br /> Section 3: Said truck shall be paid for in such manner <br /> as the city council shall determine. <br /> Section 4: WHARAAS , It is necessary that the city of <br /> Averett purchase said truck immediately, for the purpose of furn- <br /> ishing proper fire protection for said city, an emergency is declared <br /> to exist, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and <br /> publication.
