<br /> ORDINANCE NO.
<br /> An ordinance authorizing and directing the mayor and
<br /> city clerk to draw warrants in favor of various persons and in
<br /> various amounts , on the Twenty-third Street, Chestnut Street and
<br /> State Street Condemnation Funds, and declaring an emergency.
<br /> WHEREAS, proceedings were brought in the superior court
<br /> of Snohomish County, Washington for the purpose of opening up and
<br /> extending Twenty-third Street, Chestnut Street and State Street, as
<br /> provided by Ordinance No. 851 , :'!o. 850, and No. 848, and
<br /> � w
<br /> WHEREAS , an assessment roll was duly made, assessing said
<br /> lots, blocks and tracts of land for the opening up and establishing
<br /> of said street, and
<br /> Wr R1 S, said assessments provided in said assessment roll
<br /> Y were paid by various persons, and
<br /> VHLRt AS, after said payments were made the Supreme court
<br /> of th'e state of W*ashington set said assessment roll aside and
<br /> ordered a new assessment roll to be prepared, and,
<br /> WR RRAS, a new assessment roll was prepared and some of
<br /> the assessments provided for in the original assessment roll were
<br /> fl A reduced, and by reason thereof various persons are entitled to
<br /> return of the amount paid in excess of the amount finally assessed
<br /> against the property owned by them,
<br /> NOW THARi FOF.R,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE
<br /> CITY OP EV Rt4TT;
<br /> Section 1: That the mayor and city clerk be, and they
<br /> are hereby authorized and directed to draw warrants on the "Twenty-
<br /> third Street Condemnation Fund" as provided fork Ordinance No.
<br /> 879in the following amounts and in favor of the following named
<br /> :; X ". • persons , to-wit: Caroline Wolf, "50.00; George Haskell $46.oa; Anna
<br /> Haskell 50.00; Louisa J. Darling 0143.00; Alfred Taro ,Sr. $139.55;
<br /> Section 2: That the mayor and city clerk be and they
