ORDINANCE NO. \\%(j An ordinance providing for the improvement of Oakes Avenue from the north line of Twenty-second Street to the center line of Sixteenth Street by sub-grading, construction of gutters, paving with asphalt laid on suitable concrete ba:e, making old work conform with new, and doing such other work as may be necessary in connection therewith, creating a local improvement district, creating a local improvement district fund therefor, and providing that payment for said improvement be made by special assessment on the property in said districtby mode of 'payment by bonds' . WHEREAS; a majority petition of the property-owners peti- tioning for the above improvement has heretofore been filed with the Commissioner of Public Works, and said commissioner found the things set forth in said petition to be true , and WHEREAS , said Commissioner of Public Works has filed with the city council all data and information in regard to said improve- ment, as is required by law, and WHEREAS , the Commissioner of Public "Torks has recommended to the city council that said improvement petitioned for be made, and it appearing to the council that public convenience and necessity requires said improvement to be made, NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That Oakes Avenue from the north line of Twenty-second Street to the center line of Sixteenth Street be improved by sub-grading, constrt4etion of gutters, paving with asphalt laid on suitable concrete base#, ! making old work conform with new, and doing such other work as may be necessary in connection there- with, such improvement to be made according to the plans and speci- fications therefor prepared under the direction of the city engineer and now on file in the office of the city engineer, which plans and specifications are hereby adopted and ap roved. 440...
