ORDINANCE No. / 1-t <br /> An ordinance regulating and prohibiting the drinking, <br /> keeping, selling, or other disposition of intoxicating liquors <br /> in the city of Everett, providing penalties for the violation <br /> thereof, and declaring an emergency. <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN <br /> Section 1: That it shall be unlawful for any person to <br /> sell, barter, exchange, give away or otherwise dispose of any <br /> intoxicating liquor in any quantity whatever, and it shall be <br /> unlawful for any person to keep or have in his possession any <br /> intoxicating liquor with intent to sell, give away, or otherwise <br /> dispose of said liquor within the city of Everett, provided that <br /> the words 'give away' shall not be construed to proiibit the giving <br /> of intoxicating liquor to guests by a person in his private <br /> dwelling or private apartments , unless such dwelling or apartments <br /> shall become a place of public resort, and provided, further, that <br /> it shall not be unlawful for a druggist or pharmacist to sell <br /> intoxicating liquor upon prescription for medical purposes or for <br /> sacramental purposes, or of alcohol for medicinal, mechanical, <br /> or chemical purposes only; nor shall it be unlawful for such druggist <br /> or pharmacist to sell such intoxicating liquor as may be needed by <br /> or for a sick person in case of extreme illness where delay may be <br /> dangerous to the patient. <br /> Sec. 2: It shall be unlawful for any person to drink <br /> any intoxicating liquor on any street, alley, public place, or on <br /> any vacant lot in the city of Everett. <br /> Sec. 3: It shall be unlawful for any person to drink <br /> any intoxicating liquor at any place in the city of Everett, <br /> except in a Private apartment or private dwelling. <br /> Sec. 4: This ordinance shall not be construed as repeal-, <br /> ing or in any way affecting ordinance No. 1249 of the city of Everett <br />
