I T <br /> • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An ordinance relating to the commissioner of public works <br /> and providing that he shall perform the duties heretofore performed <br /> by the board of public works. <br /> WHEREAS , there are certain ordinances now existing which <br /> provide that certain permits and licenses shall be issued, and <br /> other duties shall be performed by the board of public works, and <br /> WHEREAS, by the charter adopted on the fifteenth day of <br /> April, 1912, the board of public works was abolished, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necesary that some officer of the city <br /> perform the work of said board of public works, <br /> NOW THEREFORE, TIE; CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That the commissioner of public works be, and <br /> he is hereby authorized to grant all licenses and permits which the <br /> board of public works was authorized to grant by any of the ordinanc- <br /> es of Everett, and said commissioner be and he is hereby authorized <br /> and it is his duty to do and perform all things which said board of <br /> ;ublic works was authorized or required to do and perform by any of <br /> the ordinances of said city. <br /> Sec. 2: 'WHEREAS , in order to carry on the business of the <br /> city it is necessary that some officer be authorized to perform the <br /> duties which were heretofore performed by the board of public <br /> works , an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall <br /> take effect upon its passage and publication. <br /> 2-- <br /> Mayor. <br /> Attest �, <br /> y Crlerk. <br /> —ate <br /> Published <br />
