RC` r <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> An ordinance amending section 1 of ordinance No. 818 of <br /> the city of Everett, entitled "An ordinance providing for the <br /> verification, filing and allowance of demands, bills and claims <br /> against the city of Everett, except salaries of city officials as <br /> fixed by the city charter, and repealing all ordinances and parts <br /> of ordinances in conflict herewith" , <br /> THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That section 1 of ordinance No. 818 of <br /> the city of Everett, entitled "An ordinance providing for the <br /> verification, filing and allowance of demands, bills and claims again- <br /> st the city of Everett except salaries of city officials as fixed <br /> by the city charter, and repealing all ordinances and parte of <br /> ordinances in conflict herewith" , be, and the same is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> Sec. 1: All demands, bills and claims which may arise <br /> against the city of Everett, including the payment of all of the <br /> employees of the city, whether under regular monthly salary or not, <br /> except salaries of city officials as fixed by the city charter, shall <br /> be subscribed and sworn to before the city controller or before some <br /> other officer authorized to administer oaths, provided that the <br /> employees of the various departments of the city of Everett shall <br /> not be required to present or verify their claims separately, but <br /> the heads of the various departments of the city shall, at the end <br /> of each month prepare a monthly pay-roll, showing the amount due to <br /> each employee in said department, and each of said employees shall <br /> sign said pay-roll, and said pay-roll shall be certified to and <br /> subscribed and sworn to by the head of each department.
