ORDINANCE NO. 2605-02 AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 2470-00 entitled " - ation No. 5 Construction", Fund 342, Program 003, authorizing the design and construction of a new fire station. WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need for a new Fire Station No. 5 to replace the existing Fire Station No. 5 located at 6801 Beverly Boulevard. WHEREAS, the City Council directed Administration to proceed with the design and construction of Fire Station No.5. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2470-00 was established to fund the construction of Fire Station No.5. WHEREAS, additional funding is necessary to complete the construction of Fire Station No.5. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: A special construction fund is hereby established as Fund 342, Program 003 entitled "Fire Station No. 5 Construction" to accumulate the design and construction costs required to construct a new fire station. Section 2: Authorization is hereby granted to the Facilities/Property Management Director under the administration of the Mayor, to assume full responsibility for conducting all tasks and performing all necessary steps to accomplish the actions authorized by this Ordinance. Section 3: Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2470-00 which reads as follows: The estimated cost of the project is $2,650,000 including costs related to design, construction, equipment, and contract administration. Be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: The estimated cost of the project is $3,300,000 including costs related to design, construction, equipment, and contract administration.
