"1/ <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2685-03 <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending the City's Animal Control Cumulative Reserve Fund, <br /> amending Section 1 of Ordinance No. 448-77 (EMC 3.04.130) <br /> WHEREAS,the general public has the ability to donate funds to the Animal Control <br /> Cumulative Reserve Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, some contributors request that their donations be used to promote the <br /> adoption of animals from the Everett Animal Shelter; and <br /> WHEREAS, some contributors request that their donations be used for the purchase of <br /> capital items related to animal welfare; and <br /> WHEREAS,the spaying and neutering of animals prior to adoption may require the use <br /> of funds from the Animal Control Cumulative Reserve Fund to help offset the cost of <br /> spaying and neutering that is not covered by the applicable adoption fee; <br /> NOW THEREFORE,the City of Everett Does Ordain: <br /> Section 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 448-77 (EMC 3.04.130)which reads as follows: <br /> That an Animal Control Cumulative Reserve Fund is hereby created pursuant to R.C.W. <br /> 35.21.070 to be used for the purpose of purchasing, developing and dispensing <br /> educational materials related to the concepts of animal welfare and responsible pet <br /> ownership; purchasing medical care and supplies for Shelter and other animals; and <br /> providing financial aid to those in need who wish to spay or neuter their cat or dog. <br /> Determination of qualifications for fund dispersal will be made by the Director of Animal <br /> Control. All funds collected for such fund shall be used for the purposes above set forth <br /> and for no other purposes except as provided by law. <br /> BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS: <br /> That an Animal Control Cumulative Reserve Fund is hereby created pursuant to R.C.W. <br /> 35.21.070 to be used for the purpose of purchasing, developing and dispensing <br /> educational and marketing materials related to the concepts of adoption, animal welfare <br /> and responsible pet ownership; purchasing medical care, capital equipment and supplies <br /> for Shelter and other animals;providing funds to help offset the cost of spay and <br /> neutering of animals contracted for adoption; and providing financial aid to those in need <br /> who wish to spay or neuter their cat or dog.
