Resolution Number 5490 <br /> A Resolution accepting the 10 percent petition <br /> and authorizing submittal of the 75 percent petition <br /> for the Cascade Highlands Annexation <br /> WHEREAS, The City of Everett has received a 10 percent petition and Notice of Intent <br /> to Annex meeting the requirements of RCW 35.13.125. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has a desire to work with citizens around Everett in <br /> unincorporated Snohomish County to become part of the City of Everett, and <br /> WHEREAS, Council determines there is a need to expand the annexation area <br /> boundary over that represented in the 10 percent petition, at the Northeast corner of the <br /> annexation area, in order to include all of the property under a single ownership, rather <br /> than see the property split by a jurisdictional boundary, and <br /> WHEREAS, the area proposed for annexation is within the Urban Growth Boundary <br /> established by Snohomish County. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. The City of Everett wishes to accept the 10 percent petition for the proposed <br /> annexation and authorize the signature collection for the 75% petition. <br /> 2. The City of Everett will expand the proposed boundaries to include all ownership <br /> of one owner in the annexation area. A map is attached as Exhibit "A." <br /> 3. The City of Everett will require the simultaneous implementation of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan designation by adoption of the implementing zoning for the <br /> annexation area. <br /> 4. The City of Everett will not require the assumption of this annexation's portion of <br /> existing City indebtedness. <br /> �cilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> Passed and approved this 16th day of June , 2004. <br /> Council President <br />
