RESOLUTION NO. 5469 ,r/omml i A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett,Washington,recognizing John Schack for his contributions to the Everett community WHEREAS,the City of Everett,Washington,has been saddened to learn that one of it's most generous and thoughtful philanthropists,John Schack,passed away on April 25, 2004; and WHEREAS,John Schack was a man whose leadership in business and civic affairs helped to both define our community and set an example for others to follow; and WHEREAS,John and his loving wife Idamae have been staunch supporters of community and city organizations, including the Everett Public Library,the Children's Museum of Snohomish County, Providence General Hospital,the Everett Historic Theatre and the Everett Symphony,and the Greater Everett Community foundation and many others; and WHEREAS,because of John Schack's generous nature, many community members will be able to carry on with the work that is so important to the quality of life in our community and, in turn, community members will be able to enjoy for years to come some of life's most wonderful treasurers, such as music,books and history; and WHEREAS,John Schack was a very fine man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance, NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF EVERETT THAT: The City of Everett recognizes and honors John Schack, a man who wholeheartedly believed in giving back to his community.
