,/..%/ Am <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5 4 5 7 <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett, Washington, declaring the week of <br /> April 3-9, 2004 Naval Station Everett Week in the city of Everett <br /> Whereas, the City of Everett is proud to be a partner with Naval Station Everett and <br /> proud to be a part of what makes Naval Station Everett, "The Sailor's Choice"; and <br /> Whereas, NSE Sailors, civilians, families and friends have become part of our history, <br /> our legacy and the fabric of our community; and <br /> Whereas, the United States Navy has added to the reputation of the City, bringing upon <br /> it national recognition, stature and praise; and <br /> Whereas, the City of Everett and Naval Station Everett have built an open, strong and <br /> innovative relationship; and <br /> Whereas, the people of Naval Station Everett have become an integral part of the City <br /> life, invigorating the community with initiative, leadership, a `can-do' willingness to pitch in; <br /> and <br /> Whereas, Naval Station Everett has been a reliable source of volunteers, energy and <br /> inspiration toward the overall health and well being of the community; and <br /> Whereas, Naval Station Everett is one of the Navy's premier facilities, environmentally <br /> superior and economically sound; and <br /> Whereas, Naval Station Everett is the homeport for the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN <br /> (CVN 72), USS SHOUP (DDG 86), USS FORD (FFG 54), USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG <br /> 60), and USS INGRAHAM (FFG 61); and <br /> Whereas, Naval Station Everett also serves as port for the US Coast Guard buoy tender <br /> USCG HENRYBLAKE (WLM 562) and the Military Sealift Command Ship USNS SHASTA <br /> (TAE 33) and other tenant commands; and <br /> Whereas, the eyes of the nation were focused on Everett in May 2003 when thousands of <br /> people lined our streets to welcome home our Sailors from war; and <br /> Whereas, April 8, 2004 marks the Tenth Anniversary of the Dedication of Naval Station <br /> Everett, and a series of celebrations have been organized throughout the community during the <br /> first week of April; <br />
