/1Pm <br /> RESOLUTION No. 5447 <br /> RESOLUTION supporting Library Services and Technology Act CIPA <br /> Grant No. 03-CIPA-004 to assist the library with the purchase of <br /> filtering software for its children's Internet computers. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Public Library recognizes that the Internet has become <br /> an important resource for children. <br /> WHEREAS, the Internet contains some material that is not appropriate for <br /> children. <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Everett to allow parents to choose the <br /> type of Internet access they deem best for their children. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that <br /> the City of Everett lends its full support and endorsement to the Library's receipt <br /> and expenditure of grant funds under the Library Services and Technology Act <br /> (LSTA) CIPA Initiative 2003, and the Mayor is authorized to execute all grant <br /> contracts related thereto, and the execution of the grant itself. <br /> / la4,L7 <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 25 day of February , 2004. <br /> Council President <br />
