RESOLUTION 5393 <br /> A RESOLUTION for waiving the public bidding requirements and for the sole source purchase of automated <br /> trip planning software from Trapeze Software Group, Inc. <br /> WHEREAS Everett Transit is a municipally owned and operated public transit system; and <br /> WHEREAS Everett Transit's fixed route bus services are part of a coordinated effort to connect Everett <br /> citizens with Sound Transit and Community Transit fixed route services as well as trips entirely on Everett <br /> Transit buses; and <br /> WHEREAS a key element in connecting services is timely access to accurate transit schedule information; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS in 1997 King County Metro, Community Transit and Pierce Transit developed the Regional <br /> Automated Trip Planning (RATP) Project; and <br /> WHEREAS in 1997 Man Tech Systems (Trapeze Software Group, Inc.) was selected through a public <br /> competitive process to create and provide software for RATP; and <br /> WHEREAS the purchase and installation of automated trip planning software on City of Everett servers is <br /> necessary to assure the integrity of transit information in the regional system; and <br /> WHEREAS Trapeze Software Group, Inc. has been determined to be the sole source provider for an <br /> automated trip planning system compatible with the regional system in operation since 1997. <br /> NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that <br /> because there is clearly and legitimately only one source capable of supplying the required automated trip <br /> planning software, compatible with the regional system, the City hereby waives competitive bidding <br /> requirement and authorizes the purchase of automated trip planning software from Trapeze Software Group, <br /> Inc. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this 15th day of October , 2003 <br /> Council President <br />
