1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5312 <br /> A RESOLUTION in support of Naval Station Everett families <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett is a Navy town and has had a vested interest in <br /> our local Navy families since Naval Station Everett opened along the city's waterfront <br /> in 1994; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has enjoyed a rich relationship with Navy <br /> families; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Navy is a critical force for national security efforts and plays a <br /> crucial role protecting the nation and maintaining peace throughout the world <br /> particularly in the Middle East; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council are very proud of our 5,500 deployed <br /> sailors aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Ingraham and the USS Rodney M. <br /> Davis who are working to keep America safe during these uncertain times; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett community has built a strong bond with Navy families <br /> and fosters community pride surrounding Naval Station Everett; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council encourage continued interaction <br /> among the greater Everett community and Navy families; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY <br /> COUNCIL OF EVERETT THAT: <br /> The City of Everett supports Naval Station Everett's 6,000 family members in <br /> our community anxiously awaiting the return of their loved ones who are making major <br /> sacrifices defending the freedoms of this country. <br /> /.e 01:19 , <br /> Mayor Frank Anderson <br /> Introducing resolution <br />
