F.F <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5244 <br /> A Resolution recognizing the dedication and accomplishments of Jim <br /> Langus in 18 years of public service as the top non-elected manager <br /> in the City of Everett. <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Langus was born and raised in the City of Everett, and has <br /> always maintained a passion for this community; and <br /> WHEREAS, as Chief Administrative Assistant, Jim Langus has served for 18 <br /> years as the top non-elected City official; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Langus first served the City of Everett under Mayor Bill <br /> Moore from October 24, 1979, to June 20, 1989, then returned to serve the City <br /> under Mayor Ed Hansen from January 3, 1994, to June 30, 2002, and now serves <br /> Mayor Frank Anderson; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Langus has worked diligently to support the smooth <br /> transition between mayors Hansen and Anderson; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Langus has announced that his last day at the City will be <br /> September 30, 2002; and <br /> WHEREAS, during his tenure with the City of Everett, Jim Langus has <br /> taken great care with his responsibilities on behalf of the City, shouldering <br /> complex work that represents the "nuts and bolts" of managing the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, in the process Jim Langus has contributed tens of thousands <br /> of hours to the City of Everett, its employees, residents and businesses; and <br /> WHEREAS, space is far too short to list his individual accomplishments, <br /> but BE IT KNOWN that in his distinguished career Jim Langus has become <br /> intimately familiar with every project and program within the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, Jim Langus regularly takes time and energy to credit others, <br /> but has never sought the limelight for himself. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council and Mayor of the <br /> City of Everett that: <br />
