i /.6%//:aa RESOLUTION NO. 4860 A RESOLUTION establishing the ballot title and the date of the election for annexation of the unincorporated island in southwest Everett located generally south of Casino Road between EvergreenWay and Airport Road WHEREAS, by the passage of Ordinance No. 2422-99 on November17, 1999, the City annexed the unincorporated island in southwest Everett located generally south of Casino Road between Evergreen Way and Airport Road; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 35.13 RCW, the method of annexation used is subject to referendum; and WHEREAS, referendum petitions were filed with the City which, according to the County Auditor, contain sufficient signatures of qualified electors within the area; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 35.13 RCW, the question of annexation of this area is to be submitted to the voters of the area; and WHEREAS, in Ordinance No. 2422-99, the City Council determined that the property owners in the subject area will not be responsible for participating in the cost of the existing City indebtedness, contracted prior to or existing at the date of annexation and that the zoning will be adopted for the subject area in zoning categories consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and through zoning classifications which implement the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City is now establishing the ballot title and the date of the election for annexation of the subject area; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT THAT: SECTION 1: ELECTION DATE: The City Council finds that the question of annexation of the unincorporated island in southwest Everett located generally south of Casino Road between Evergreen Way and Airport Road which territory is legally described on the attached "Exhibit A" which is incorporated herein by reference shall be placed before the electors at the election to be held as provided by law on February 29 , 2000.
