• <br /> • <br /> liVIMMMI <br /> ORDINANCE NO.0x0200-97 ELIEIFETT <br /> An ORDINANCE establishing water rates for customers of the Everett water system, <br /> increasing fees for developer-installed services, and repealing Ordinance No. 2141-96 <br /> (Section 14.16.710 of the EMC) <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2141-96 was adopted on April 17, 1996 establishing the current <br /> water rates for Everett water customers; and <br /> WHEREAS, Increasing pumping capacity at the City of Everett's Water Filtration Plant is the <br /> least costly way to deliver more water to Everett's service area in Western Snohomish County, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett's wholesale water customers have agreed to reimburse the City for their <br /> share of construction costs through an increase in the filtration rate or, in some cases, through <br /> progress payments; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett's share of project costs will be paid out of cash on hand in the Utilities <br /> Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, the cost of meters has increased since 1990, necessitating an increase in fees for <br /> developer-installed water services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett retail rates will, therefore, not need to be increased since retail base water <br /> rates can be reduced to match the increase in filtration rates. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Everett City Council does ordain: <br /> Section 1: As agreed to by the Everett Water Utility Committee (EWUC) in order to <br /> reimburse the City of Everett for construction of the Finished Water Pump Station, the Everett <br /> City Council finds that the rates and charges hereafter are reasonable. <br /> Section 2: Effective August 1, 1997, and thereafter, the monthly water rates and <br /> charges, monthly minimum charges, filtration charges, and provisions relating to rates and charges <br /> throughout the water system shall be as follows: <br /> A. Within the City Limits <br /> 1. Fixed rate accounts - minimum monthly water charge $13.55 <br /> Filtration charge 2.95 <br /> Total Fixed Rate $16.50 <br /> CSTAGORD:97W RORD(YJ 6/5/97) I <br />
