• • <br /> MIO* <br /> " °` 'ETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2129-96 <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to camping in public areas, adding a new chapter to <br /> Everett Municipal Code (EMC) Title 8 -Health and Safety, and repealing EMC <br /> 9.06.140, relating to camping in parks. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Unlawful Camping <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to camp, occupy camp facilities or use camp <br /> paraphernalia in the following areas, except as otherwise provided by ordinance or as <br /> permitted pursuant to section 6 of this ordinance: <br /> (a) any park; <br /> (b) any street; <br /> (c) any publicly owned parking lot or publicly owned area, improved or <br /> unimproved. <br /> Section 2: Storage of Personal Property in Public Places. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person to store personal property, including camp facilities and <br /> camp paraphernalia, in the following areas, except as otherwise provided by ordinance or <br /> as permitted pursuant to section 6 of this ordinance: <br /> (a) any park; <br /> (b) any street; or <br /> (c) any publicly owned parking lot or publicly owned area, improved or <br /> unimproved. <br /> Section 3: Definitions <br /> The following definitions are applicable in this chapter unless the context otherwise <br /> requires: <br /> (a) "Camp"means to pitch or occupy camp facilities; to use camp paraphernalia. <br /> (b) "Camp facilities" include, but are not limited to, tents, huts, or temporary <br /> shelters. <br /> (c) "Camp paraphernalia" includes, but is not limited to, tarpaulins, cots, beds, <br /> sleeping bags, hammocks or non-city designated cooking facilities and similar <br /> equipment. <br /> (d) "Park"means the same as defined in EMC 9.06.020. <br /> (e) "Store" means to put aside or accumulate for use when needed, to put for <br /> safekeeping, to place or leave in a location. <br />
